Synopsis
A pacifist religious community on the Dniester river breaks its isolation to support Ukraine's war effort, as floods and war both reshape their world.
A closed, pacifist religious community lives on the banks of the Dniester River in Ukraine, following its own rules, cut off from the outside world — until recurring floods disrupt their lives. When Russia launched its full-scale war against Ukraine, the community began collecting humanitarian aid for the military and civilians on the front line, breaking its own rules to establish communication with the outside world. Set in a sunny village filled with the laughter of children from large families, where the front lines of both World Wars once passed, the film observes how the community comes together to overcome the aftermath of floods just as the whole country is reshaped by war — nature and war both relentless forces, yet the feeling of home remains unshakeable.
