QIRIM is a special thematic film programme of the Ukrainian Film Festival Berlin — a conversation about Crimea through the voices of those for whom it is memory, culture, home, and future. Through contemporary Ukrainian and Crimean Tatar cinema, the programme addresses Crimea not only through the lens of occupation and war, but above all as a living cultural and human space — an inseparable part of Ukraine and the historical homeland of the Crimean Tatar people. At the centre of QIRIM are people and their stories: the experience of a generation coming of age during war, memory and the search for identity, connection to the homeland, and questions about Crimea's possible future. Realised in partnership with KERMEN e.V., the Assembly of Crimean Organisations in Europe (ACO), and CEMAAT.
